In terms of the JSE Listings Requirements, Petminâ€™s board of directors or nomination committee must have a policy on the promotion of gender diversity at board level, and must report to shareholders how it has been applied.
The company is further required to report on progress towards meeting agreed voluntary targets.
Petmin supports the principles and aims of gender diversity at board level. The Petmin board has set the voluntary target of 20% of the board to comprise women.
The Petmin nomination committee will review this voluntary target annually, and will measure female representation and make recommendations to the Petmin board.
The nomination committee, in nominating and recommending the appointment of directors, shall take into account the requirements of the policy.
This policy was approved by the Petmin Board on 29 November 2016.
The obligations under this policy are in addition to the requirements of the B-BBEE Codes.
